Extreme Arctic Mittens FAQ
How cold are the Extreme Arctic Mittens good for?
They were tested at -40 to -50°F during the 1999 Yukon Quest Dog Mushing Race.
How are they built?
They are a two-layer system: a three ply Supplex shell over a 24 ounce Lamilite lining, with a 5 ounce Lamilite insert.
Are these warmer than the Super Mitten?
Yes. The Super Mitten is our second-warmest mitten, and the Extreme Arctic is the heavier, extra heavy-weight option.
Will they stay warm if they get wet?
Yes. Lamilite keeps insulating when damp and dries fast.

Every piece is built in our own shop.
Built once. Used for decades.
One insulation. Everything we make.
Most bags stitch right through their insulation. Every seam is a cold spot. Wiggy's Lamilite is one continuous layer with nothing stitched through it. It breathes, keeps working when it gets damp, and dries fast.
- For families: no cold spots, so everyone sleeps warm.
- In the field: keeps insulating when it's wet.
- For programs: in service for decades, not seasons.
- At the edge of the map: rated to -60°F.
