Victims Casualty Hypothermia Bag FAQ
What is the VCH bag used for?
It keeps injured or hypothermic victims warm during rescue and transport, while giving responders access to treat them.
Can responders reach the patient without opening the bag?
Yes. There are access points for the legs, waist, each arm, and the head, and the zippers open from either end or side.
Can it be cleaned after use?
Yes. The top half separates completely from the bottom for sanitization washing.
What are the stock numbers?
US NSN 6532014989681. Canadian NSN/NATO 6530219148698 (orange) and Canadian NSN 6530219205924 (green).
Does it work with a rescue litter?
Yes. Adjustable rescue litter straps run the length and width of the underside, and there is room for an 8-man carry.

Every piece is built in our own shop.
Built once. Used for decades.
One insulation. Everything we make.
Most bags stitch right through their insulation. Every seam is a cold spot. Wiggy's Lamilite is one continuous layer with nothing stitched through it. It breathes, keeps working when it gets damp, and dries fast.
- For families: no cold spots, so everyone sleeps warm.
- In the field: keeps insulating when it's wet.
- For programs: in service for decades, not seasons.
- At the edge of the map: rated to -60°F.
